I have a question i couldn't find by searching is it common for people just to change the struts and keep the factory springs or not? I have to change the strut mounts on my 02 cav so i wanted to change everything all at once but i have the factory lip kit and my car sits kinda low in the front as it is but the rear is hideous. Would the handling be good just by changing the struts and adding sway bars or should i just suck it up and buy springs to. I like the pro-kit but and worried about the uneven drop people talk about on the 2.2.Any suggestions.
if you wanna change the struts out and keep the oem springs, atleast upgrade the struts to kyb gr-2s or tokico hps. both are great struts to use if you keep the stock springs.
Ya i was going with either gr-2 or the HP's but will it lower the car any the last set of HP's i got added another 1/2 in. to what the springs were supposed to, and no they weren't crappy springs they where Eibach on my old 94 accord. And another question are the Tein h-techs even worth it at only a 1 in drop?
well if you plan on lowering then doing buy gr-2 or hps imo its a waste of money
I dont think he understands the question ^
No, as far as I know, the struts made for our cars won't make your car sit any lower. Its all to do with the position of the perches. However, I know that between the Tokico's and the Koni's, there is a 3/8" or so difference in height - which can probably be attributed to the perch position. Regardless though, the struts alone are not going to make your car lower. Find a used prokit and if you dont like the way it sits sell them and buy something else.

thanks Dave thats the answer i was loking for.I see you have the ls kit on your cav, what do you have the sportlines? I always lower my car but now the decided to put these huge speedbumps in my complex and i am just worried about clearance. The ls front lip is my favorite part of my car and i rather not screw it up. Do you have clearance issues?
Yup, Sportlines + Tokico D-Spec.
6.5" clearance at the front. I take driveways sideways, but aside from that no problems with clearances. I did scrape the bar that protects the oil pan (part name is escaping me right now) on two HUGE speedbumps in Ottawa, but these things were killer. Also the guys at midas caught my bumper putting my car on the lift and took a big chunk of paint off the bottom of the bumper (GRRR IDIOTS), but luckily you cant see it unless you get on the ground.
Aside from that, no problems in the year I've had them on.
