i am puting canister in my cavalier 03 ls sport how what do i need to move or cut to make it lay unibody lol thanks alot
its alot of work. im not exactly sure but i know of 2 people that would probably be able to help you
1) esb
2)spyderwizard
its alot more work than most people want to do the rear has to be tubbed which is pretty simple but massive work has to be done to the front to actually lay the pinch weld on the ground. I'll try to remember everything and post it later
You want to put your oil filter on the ground.
if you meant oil pan you cant because you hit trans pan first i learned that twice the hard way. i have draged through 2 trans pans. and to get the back to lay whatever you do dont buy easy street ones because the struts stop you from laying out in the back completely. you have to use like 2500 bags and fab up the bracket to lay the rear. which is the easy one. i cant help you much on the front cuz again i have the easy street and my sub frame is about a 1/8 to a 1/4 of the ground. damn i just typed way to much
but yea esb and spyderwizard know a @!#$ load on that
first off from the sound of it you have NO idea what air ride is other than "squitches" go ahead and read EVERYTHING you can find on it because theres NO such thing as canisters?
You have 2 Choices
Cylinders
and
Bag over struts (you can do lone bags in the rear)
Now if you want to lay pinch then you have 2 choices, 1 is a unibody drop, raised towers. Look for the Easystreet Cav for an example of that with a tubular frame.
Now I dont lay pinch(alltho i could with a little more modding but then my kit would BLOW UP!
I sectioned the inner fender and moved it in in the front, I gained about another 2" of clearance and this allows me to lay out on an OEM outer diameter wheel and tire. When I Say Lay out I mean the subframe brace is no longer there and the Engine Subframe itself lays on the ground at arouund 45PSI in the front (on my custom air cylinder setup)
The rear you have 2 choices on getting it all the way down on an OEM outer diameter
You can do the IRS swap, and not need a tub, this is because if the tire goes straight up rather than forward it gains ALOT of clearance.
OR you can tub the rear, its only been done once that I know of.
But like I said, if your calling air ride "canister " then no offence but you have NO idea what your dealing with, learn alot, start with a bolt on eaystreet kit then learn from there.
even with the irs on 18 or bigger u cant lay out with out tubbing it
I know, thats why I sai OEM outer Dia. Not a 22" with a 40 tire
Im running 18x8.5/35 in the front and 19x10/35 in the rear and lay flat
without IRS
Make that 2 for tubs! crappy pic but found it on my comp

No.. I meant filter. He said he wanted to lay Fram. I keep trying to figure out why you'd want to put the filter on the ground.
