tokico handling package!
Wednesday, September 13, 2006 11:43 AM
Ijust purchased and installed the advandced tokico handling package on my 02 cav! Performs just as good as it looks. I bought itoff ebay for $449 shipped. My factory strut mounts were shot so i replaced those as well And i almost s@#t myself when i took ff the fronts the spring broke!!! It was in two pieces i noticed it was a little lower on one side than the other but thought it was the strut(which was also shot) but i dont know how i didn't get in an accident someone must love me! Anyone not looking to spend alot of money its a good investment . It came with tokico springs and struts w/ a 1.4 inch drop. I'll get pictures of it quickly. Just one question t the veterens out there, there is a slight noise in the front when going over bumps slowly everything is tight (i triple checked) but i wonder if i could've tighten the strut mount more to the strut. Any advice would be great wanna fix it before alignment.

i have the exact same package. theres real bad clunking when I turn the wheel. I was guessing that the strut mounts are f-ed but I don't got time now to change them.

yes, we know its tokico hps. yes stock replacements. the springs came from tokico so it came with its limited lifetime warranty.

true but you still have to replace them everytime they blow and pay for an agliment.

why do you say they'll blow do you have in more r/d time than them? Not to be a d%$k but i drive a cavalier not a 350z not making it a track car not spending 1/10 of the purchase of the car on suspension! The drop right now is barely over 1in. and it rides perfect. I had a 94 accord which was lower 2in. on tokico blues for 3 years w/o blowing them. Once again anyone who wants good drop good ride for a good price i recommend them. Got them from JDMWerks on Ebay shipped them out had em in 5 days from cali.

for 1 you cant compare 2 different car suspensions. every suspension is different and every car handles things different. i know that those sturts are only oem replacements. you just said in your first post that the springs are 1.4" drop now your saying its a little past an inch 1.4" is a lot on those struts.

i am not arguing w/ you i knew you were going to stir up the sh&t and whatever this post is for people that realize they drive a cavalier and don't want to spend over $800 dollars on the suspension. And to clear what i said up the drop is 1.4 but right now when measuring its only maybe 1.1 but its not even been 24 hours so they are going to settle. And who says there to much for them you or the people who designed it? Because i called Tokico and they say i should never have a problem unless i beat the piss out of the car.I am done discussing this topic this is why i hate posting but for those that want pics i promise there coming.

If everything is tokico and from tokico then you should have no problem w/ them warrenting it. I understand that these are an oem replacement but tokico has also told me over the phone numerous times that they warrenty them for up to a 1.5 inch drop.

looks good but they are going to blow

just becuase tokico says something does not mean itstruel. I mean @!#$ just becuase a manufacture tells you something and you believe it, then i have a nice set of super sawy bars ill sell you for 100 bucks a piece, guarnteeed to last.

looks good but they are going to blow

and sure its just a cavalier

have run replacing them and getting your car aligned everytime.

I dont know about you but I make enough money where the time it takes to jack up the car, and replace all that crap, I would rather have just bought a nice setup that I wouldnt have to do that. Cheaper.

well okay thats your opinion, have you ever heard the sayning "opinions are like a@#holes, everyone has one and they usually stink!"? i had a 94 accord slammed 2 1/4" w/ tokico blues for 2 1/2 years and never blew a strut.

yes becuase an accord is the EXACT same thing as a J.............................

Thats like poeple who ask well I can slam my golf and still have good handling, why the hell cant i slam my j and have good handling.

its becuase its two TOTALLY DIFFERNT CARS.

Some of the people on here are as bad as little girls. Continuing on and on about stupid sh*t. This is a big reason that a lot of people stop posting on here. There’s too many flammers on here. All you have to do is warn him about the problems that they have had and call it a day. Don't insistently pursue the fact that they MIGHT blow. You also have to put into the account all of the suspension packages that haven’t blown.

Do you feel like you have to prove something? Just drop it already....

Congrats on the drop. But comparing a cavalier to any car, really is rediculous. Any Honda I've ever ridden in has rode better than my cavalier. Hell my buddy just bought some ebay coilovers for his integra and it rides better than my gravanas. Not to mention it sits lower. And please tell me that tokico put a lot of r&d into the cavalier. It's just a modified suspension from another car to fit a j.

just because they're not leaking fluid doesn't mean they're blown either.

ive stopped arguing a while ago. ill let people believe what they want and when something happens then can come back and explain it and there will be plenty of people here that said "told you so". you can only give people so much info, in the end its their money and their gonna do what they want.

bagged, people only hear what they want to hear, so dont waste your finger flicking with typing, cause they dont want to hear it.

congrats on the drop, the look is much better. i hope the ride is good too.

dont get mad at people trying to warn you about what can happen, because thats why they are here. they are here to give their opinions and expirience so that you dont run into the same problems that they do.

i wish you the best with your new drop, but like bagged has been trying to get at, when you drop on OEM and OEM replacement struts, you get what you paid for. sometimes you pay for it a few times.

Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!

thanks i'll log that away, as if you couldn't tell i stop arguing 2 weeks ago. I have experience with these struts before and i stand behind tokico they know more about there product than anyone on this org. so if bagged wants to spend a butt load of money on airbags thats him and none of my business. Money is not the issue its that i spent 8 grand on the car and i am not sinking 1000 bucks into it not a smart desicion.Thats all and please no one else respond to this thread.Thanks.

i gonna respond but not to flame. dont get me wrong tokico is a great company but these struts wont handle it on our car. i know you said you've had them on another car but every cars suspension is different and handles things differently. i spent alot of money on my suspension for 2 reason. im a mini trucker at heart and 2 the cav use to be a show car. i just come on here to try and help people so they dont make the same mistake ive seen other on here make. take it how you want it.
