Well i decided im getting rid of my car. So im going to trade my Tein Type Basics to a friend of mine for his stock stuff. He has a 97 cavalier. I know he is going to need the newer tophats from my car, so im guessing his top hats wont work on mine? even with his stock stuff? Any help would be appreciated. Im tearing my car apart tonight so if i could get some help as soon as possible wether or not he has to get me another set of 00-05 top hats. thanks.

ok im a little lost here. you are taking your suspension off for your friends to swap correct? if true then why would you be taking about the struts when all you have to do is swap the corners. take his whole strut out and bolt it in place w/ yours.

just swap it all his upper mounts will work on your car just take them out and swap them complete

you don't need anything. Its a direct swap.


the front mounts are different, in some aplications you need specific mounts to mount the springs to the strut mounts, but any and all 3rd gen suspensions will bolt into any and all 3rd gens.

yup the only thing that changed were the mounts. 95-99 have a piece strut mount where as the 00-05 have a 1 piece strut mount
