Ok after looking through several pages of posts. I never saw anybody actually show installing a set of coilovers.
I got my gravana coilovers now, but havent had a chance to put them on. I bought new 95-99 top mounts. one of my stock ones is not so good.
I saw the diagrame that Alias1429 posted. it looked pretty simple. I seperated the original top mount. but what I need to know is do you have to have a press to put the new bottom peice that came with the coilovers in?
mine doesnt fit at all. I mean it fits in the top peice. but thats it. it doesnt go all the way in.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I looked at the first post and realized I mad no sense at all. so I figured I would show the diagram.
what I need to know is, does #1 in the second diagram fit into #2 the way the stock top and bottom parts originally fit together?
if so how? because mine sort of fits, but doesnt go all the way in.
Does anybody have any idea waht I"m Talking about there? lol I just need to knwo if I need the two parts pressed together. or should I just tighten the nut on top of the strut to make them fit togther. That bottom peice on the coilover is not cheep and I dont want to have to replace it if i screw it up.
dude it aint that hard to figure out
the 2 pieces stuck together you need to seperate
the stuff the strut in and bolt it all up
did you do step one?? you acctually sort of take apart the mount and then that gold piece fit's right up in that top portion you have circled in blue
yes I took them apart. but the gold peice doesnt fit. it goes about an 1/4 of an inch in, and hten it stops. is it supposed to go all the way. so it looks like the last part of the diagram?
Ok heres the thing. the top part. A in teh diagrams. the inside diameter is too small. it has paint and stuff built up on it wher eit was painted. so I'm going to sand the paint part off and see if I can get it a litle bit bigger to make it fit. and that should do it.
the gold piece from the strut should bottom out inside the stock modified part , i dont remember if mine stick out or are all the way inside
but as long as its bottom out in the stock part , your fine
well i"m getting it all worked out and should have the coilovers on right after christmas and have it aligned. and then I'll take some pics to show everybody.
