i just got my set of these today and DAMN they are really frickn heavy, just wondering if they are any heavier than the stock stamped steel ones.... ?? you wouldnt think it by looking at them and knowning they are aluminum, but they are a tid bid on the heavy side.
thanks!
hmmm, i think i may have a problem here. i had them sent to my dad's house and he's the one describing them to me, and he says they are extremly heavy and there is no way in hell they are aluminum, he even took a magnet to them and it stuck right on, so they are for sure not aluminum. he also says that they have rivets through them and do look like a "stamped" piece, not a one peice chunk like the aluminum's.
whats really fishy here... i called the salvage yard i bought them from, he GARENTEED me the ones that were sent were aluminum, he personally packaged them and was dumbfounded when i told him i didnt get the right ones.
he sent them to a local salvage yard here in sioux city and they sent them to my dad's... now hmmm... dad also said the box seemed like it was all tore apart and re-tapped up.. now hmmmm.... im wondering if the local yard snatched them up for themselvs and said "he's a moron, he wont know the difference" hmmm??? sorry, no moron here.
Yah those arent the right ones man..magnets will not stick to aluminium unless its glued lol...send them back..
welp, just got a look at them... NOT EVEN CLOSE they look like something off a frickn pickup!!! they have a big long steel arm-def not the right parts.
oh well, the yard is doing some investigative work for me tomarrow... we shall see whats going on.
and whats really odd? the invoice i got from the yard in the box states:
"99 grand am front lower control arm -RIGHT", (with option FE3)
"99 grand am front lower control arm -LEFT", (with option FE3)
