so i want to lower my 2 door 99 cav but I'm not sure what i need and whatnot. I really dont want to spend all this money on the new struts right now. the only think im aware of is I need a new alignment after it is lowered. Can i get away with just pulling the old struts and replacing the springs like the rk sports or something. I dont wanna go that cheap but i dont want to spend ridicolous money either. Any help will be appreciated.
lowering the car while still using stock struts is a big no-no. they were not made to take any sort of drop. you could seriously damage the car, yourself, passengers, etc.
save up and buy the parts needed to do it right the first time.

The cheapest, most popular combo I've seen while going through people's registries on here is Pro-Kit + AGX's. With as cheap as that combo is (around $535, cheaper on eBay), there's absolutely no excuse to not lowering your car the correct way. What's $500 anyway? Like 2 weeks pay @ McDonalds? You'll be happy you didn't use stock struts, I promise.
Amen on all of the above.
Don't cheap out. Search and see SOO MANY other stupid people asking the same things about lowering their car cheaply. If you're going to cheap out, just punch holes in your tires with nails and be done with it :p
