the time has come to replace my front brakes
what I'm wondering is if SS lines are worth it. I'm looking at purchasing a kit from Gravana including the Hawk pads and Powerslot rotors. I'm just wondering if i should get the kit with the SS lines or not. I don't go to the track and i don't AutoX, so basically I'm wondering if there worth it for everyday driving. if they are then ill get them, if not ill spend the $100 on something else.
just looking to hear everyones input.
thanks
if you dont brake hard and dont race really then you dont really need them. i love mine though, nice solid pedal with the SS.
SS brake lines are BY FAR the best bang for your buck in modifing the brakes. awsome upgrade, worth the money, you will not regreat it
thanks for the replies. ive decided to wait and save a little more and get them. if im going to replace everything i might as well do it right the first time.
You won't regret it.
Even in everyday driving, there are times you are going to need the full potential of your brakes.
I've been there many times and told myself that I was glad to have gone with the stainless brake lines.
Sudden stops, evading a possible accident, and the occasional heavy braking that you do when driving in the city, requires you to have good brakes.
Good luck

Thank you Dave and JBO!
Good rotors, good pads, SS lines, that will slow you down quick enough for the speeds you should be driving anyway
SS lines make for a much better pedal feel too. Much less mush. Takes a little getting used to. (had SS lines on my old 83 Chevy truck, loved 'em).
wow, i had no idea that just changing the lines would make that much of a difference, i may have to just get mine put on soon.

Agreed. The pedal feel was different for sure.
Nothin to do with the material. Its probably the fact you bled them, and changed the fluid. SS is good to resist weathering.
My 2 Cents
Rubber lines, even new ones like to expand and balloon a bit under hard stop braking. Stainless lines are very resistant to that, the difference IS infact in the materials.
