Koni yellow + RKSport coilover install Q

I checked the sticky already. There was a ton of helpful information, but I didn't see anything about my issue. I also searched to no avail...

It appears that the length of travel for the rear shocks is too long. I've got the coilovers set right about in the middle, but the spring does not need to be compressed to tighten the nut that secures the upper mount on the shock. In fact, there's still about 2 inches between the spring and the upper mount, when the shock is fully extended.

I checked the part number (1309, right?) and I'm pretty certain that I have the right shocks. If I'm correct, some Koni sports are adjustable as far as ride height, but I don't think these are. If they are, I don't see the section in the instructions that explains how to.

The RKSport instructions indicate that the coilover perch is to be installed with the longer portion facing down, relative to the stop inside the sleeve that rests on the ridge on the shock. (Anyone familiar with coilovers will understand that, I'm sure.)

Anyone have a guess as to what I'm missing?

Thanks guys & girls.

nothing, thats how coilovers work. it will compress down when you put the weight of the car down.

Thanks for the reply. I was just concerned that the spring could become unseated if the suspension traveled all the way down, but looking at the upper mount I guess it would just fall right back into place.

I'll just try to remember not to pull any Dukes of Hazzard stunts...
