Well the wheel bearing is gone on our sunfire but i cant figure which one. It vibrates when you turn the car to the right...so im assuming it will be the pass side bearing? let me know if this is righ. I know i should change both but we just dont have the time so we are doing just the one for now..phil
jack it up and try to make the tire turn a little left or right with out the tie rod end moveing. i know i just did mine. Both.
its the opposite side. if you turn right its the left one. if you turn left its the right one
Still best to have the car in the air and manhandle the tire. I had a bearing that completely defied logic by getting noisy when I *unloaded* that side of the car in a turn.

anyone ever have one completly seperate while going down the interstate??? I HAVE!! by time i got the car stopped the brakes were litterally on fire!! i almost let it just burn... but then i was like i cant do that to my baby lol.. i think i have had the worst experience with wheel bearings, my old car went through them left and right it was ridiculous

You act like they are hard or something? Dude, those things are easy.
Just jack up the front end, and wiggle the tire.. which ever one has more movement, that's your huckleberry.. I suggest doing the other one soon after the other.

Yah it definatly wasnt the opposite of the way you steer..i did it last night and it was the right side..the left had no play and the right had play..so the rght one fixed it..

Logic is great, isn't it?
In all truth though, let's not "think". Best advice is still the obvious one: if there's play in that bearing/wheel, then replace it.

I don't recall saying they were hard??? They are, however, a pain in the ass because I don't like working on my car to begin with.
