OK guys....I installed the Tein SS set up last weekend.
Basically...with the time I had they went straight from the car they were on to mine...and when they went on the other car the first time they were brand new, never adjusted. And when i say never adjusted...I mean never adjusted...straight from the box to the car! Also...I only installed these and drove home...havent' had the car back out again...maybe 5 miles on them so far...want to get them right before I start banging on them!
They are currently set to full hard or dang close cause my car rides like a freight train on public roads! The ride hieght has never been touch either...so basically, they are as they came from the factory...or at least that is what I was told.
So...weather seems to be nice enough this weekend I want to fix the set up to the way I want it.
Now...I have the instructions from Tein's website for these and will follow them for settign up the dampers (full hard then 8 clicks back)...but they don't talk about a couple things...
Questions:
1) Do I mess with the camber plates/bolts and if so...what do I set them to? (They are not tight right now at all!)
2) I plan to run the front a little lower than the back but should I adjust to the instructions first then adjust to what I want or jsut go straight to what I want?
3) If I get uneven ride height (front to front or rear to rear..side to side) do I adjust the height to looks or still count threads on the coil over and call it a day?
4) Can someone explain the camber plates/pillow ball mounts to me and how they work/adjust, etc...I know this is in line with Q1, but as an overview...can someone help out some?
Ok...so there you have it...the BlueDeuce with Tein SS set up now! WOOOOHOOOO!! Yeah I'm excited!! Just want to get all the adusting and stuff right and then get an alignment for the car!
Help me out guys...I know it's fairly straight forward but never played with toys like this before and want them to perform correctly and last as long as my last set up did....6 years! (had Koni reds and Sportlines).
Thanks!
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
out of the box for me my fronts were uneven. looks and threads. so i measured on the threads and made them even that way. haven't touched the camber plates. i do want to figure out myself what settin i'm on for the dampers. cuz what i thought was the end of the 8 clicks wasn't. so i'm sure i'm uneven on my dampers too. so i'm not sure if i accidently clicked a couple of them before installin or not. so i'm lookin at edfc to see if that would square it away or call tein to see where the middle point is to start with. sorry i'm not much help but just lettin you know since there aren't many.

Thanks for the help....
I actaully played around with them today and got all the adjustments done. Set up as the nistructions say and everything seems fine, looks great too by the way!
Only question I have is about the rear. I set them to the instructions and didn't like the ride height so I dropped them to about 3 threads or so from the bottom to get a look. Better...but still a little tall for my taste.
Question is...after searching and only finding a thread about the basics and 2 inch shorter springs...is there a spring for the SS set up?
I'd like to drop the rear a little lower than they are. I have about 1.5 inch wheel gap in the rear...maybe close to 2 inches and they are about 3 threads from the bottom.
I could slam the rear but I don't think it will be low enough for me still and I know that's not good for the set up either!! So...does anyone have info about a short spring for the rear to take up some of the wheel gap?
I emailed Tein so I'm sure that was the best option but thought I'd throw it out here as well...maybe someone else feels the same as I do and would like the rear a little lower.
The fronts are great...6 threads from the bottom and I'm almost tucking 18s!!

Maybe once they break in everything will sit a little lower?
also make sure you realize that even Tein doesn't advise dropping them all the way.
I keep my rears at near full hard and the front anywhere from full soft to half way. Depends on if I'm auto crossing or driving on the road. I like them about mid-way all around for daily driving.

Yep...realize that's not good for them so that's why I was asking if anyone knew of shorter springs.
Nothing from Tein today...maybe tomorrow.

Thats because Its not good for the shocks, as it could damage the pistons.

MMMM, HIDs
do you happen to know where the middle setting is on the damper? does it make a louder click?

Turn them full clockwise till they stop...then come back 8 clicks.
No "big" sound or anything...just count back 8 clicks...that's what I did.

Alrighty...got an email back from Tein and they said shorter springs are not an option for the set I have.
So...did I do something wrong with the rears??
I'm 3 threads from the bottom and I still have at least an inch, maybe 1 1/2 inches of wheel gap!
I thought you could get lower with these than this!
The fronts are more than enough and I could "tuck" the fronts like mad crazy!! Heck I'm 7 threads from the bottom and maybe, maybe a 1/2 inch of wheel gap!
The rears though...leave a little too much wheel gap for my taste...

they can turn further than ur supposed to, its 16 clicks from full hard to full soft, any further is damaging or so it says on the instructions
i thought the 32 was with the edfc?
any pics of the car dropped on the teins?

out of box drop. i've got 2 12's in my trunk in a heavy box so it throws off the back slightly. plus i took off my front lip for winter.

Mine sit just like that in the rear...I'm about 1/2 inch lower in the front though.
I'll get some pics this weekend if the weather holds out here...cars dirty!

Well it's like 38 degrees here but I'm going to get some hot water and clean her up a little...I'll post pics in the Photos and Media area later today for you to see...
She looks great with the new stance...I think I was so use to being so much lower with the Konis and Sportlines that I felt it was too tall in the back...but after a couple days (well 2 weeks) I think it's looks great!!
We'll see what everyone else says....but either way, like it or not.....I love my Cavy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
