Is anyone currently running the RK Sport Coilovers with H&R Race Springs currently selling on their site? I live in rural Indiana and I need to be able to raise it up in winter (can't afford air, yet) but want it low in the summer. Anyway, if so, are they okay? Any issues? This is just my daily driver, no track, no need for REAL performance - I want them to make the car look good while not beating me to death... Gettin' old ya know.
You may need to hack up your struts to get them on. Also I wouldn't recommend putting them on stock struts, they will blow.
I used to have H&R lowering springs and I thought they were a little harsh.

Yah, I downloaded the manual, and you do have to cut up the struts. But, I don't want to blow out the struts, so I guess I won't go that route. Gravana Tuning has a whole set up from Tein for just over 8 bills I think I might try. I wanted to go cheap, but blown struts wouldn't be cheap... Thanks for the input.
it was easy to hack the struts apart i think they were great 4 the price car handles like a go kart and it easy to adjust i also never blew any struts they have been on for over a year and the roads in philly suk

Hmmmm. Yah, the roads in Philly are worse than here (well, 8 years ago when I was there...) That gives me new hope. My neighbor works for Nissan, he agrees we can cut the perches off with no drama. The only issue is the strut poppin'. I guess I could put some cash back as I'm riding on the stock ones to replace them if they go. Thanks for the input. I really like the idea of an adjustable ride height for $300.
u have 2 score the weld that holds the perches on then give it a few good wacks, the back shocks u just have 2 bang off with the hammer. i was real nervous about doing it but it was easy and worth it

I had a set on my sunfire(daily driver),THEY SUCKED, you'll appreciate mild lowering springs better, or if money is not much of an issue go with the good expensive coilovers, easy to adjust and less hack and slash specials to stock struts.
do not put any type of lowering spring or coilover on stock struts. they will blow period.

Real karts have a tendency to break ribs, has your car broken any of your ribs?

Im running the RK sport coilovers and they are not the best. The nervous thing to do is to get really nice koni yellows and have to cut them up to put these on so i would go with ground control. DO NOT RUN STOCK. I have blown mine out ounce and it is a pain.

so because you blew out your stock struts on coilovers, the coilovers arent the best?
The coilovers are fine i was just mentioning that to get the best out of them you would need to get new shocks/struts.The rk sport coiovers were just not ment to go lower then 1.5 when i blew mine out i went down to 2 inches like an idiot. So it depends on how low you are wanting to go whether i would consider these again.

i think your still confused on how coilovers work. you can lower the rksport coils 2" if you like, you just need the right struts to do it with.

I have RK coilovers on Koni Yellow's. You do not cut anything on the Koni's to install them on the RK hardware. You need to cut the spring perch off a stock strut to get the coilover on. Next you cut about 38mm off the top of the same strut to pull the stock insert out , then drill a hole in the bottom. Then you slide the RK collar on the strut then put in the Koni Yellow insert and bolt it in from the bottom.
