I managed to find this:

If you need pics of something, lemme know, I have the full rear setup in boxes in my garage, I can easily "re-assemble" them, and snap some pics for you.

Just note the location of the hole in the backing plate for the e-brake cable in relation to the star wheel (#16 adjuster screw), and lock (#7 actuator lever)

That should tell you the correct direction/placement of the starwheel for each side.

and BTW, which car is this for??

That setup is for the older brakes, the 03+ are identical in assembly, but might look slightly different.

Its for an 03+ that exploded view doesn't even remotely resemble the 03+ setup, thats pretty much a traditional setup right there.

Lucky the 03+ only has a few parts so I figured it out

thanks though

That would imply the "next guy" would search.....and that he would still have the pic hosted somewhere.....the chances of both of those things happening are slim...

between the 2....sledge, but i use a smaller version of one myself, or just a larger hammer. My everyday hammer is around 40oz.

I'm replacing the adjusting screws on my 99 2.2L Cavy. The guy I bought the car from apparently replaced them with either both forward or reverse thread adjusting screws, I can't remember now. My Haynes doesn't specify which screw is for what side. A little help would be much appreciated.

Usually the adjusting screw has a R or L on it. If it's new you can see this. when you buy the new one, tell the people which side you need and you should receive the correct side for repair.

that diagram does not include a pic of the rectangular clip that comes off the brake line to hook and pulls on part #19 when you pull the ebrake

I'm hoping for a non-exploded view of that same thing. I get the joy of doing my rear drums either tonight or on the weekend and who-ever did them last really messed some stuff up and now it's a mess back there. luckly, my rear brakes still work, a bit. . .

I'm trying to install the Brake shoes of an '03 Cavalier but I ran into a little problem. The manual I was using said that the pin that attaches the brake lever to the Shoe slides right out but that is not the case. I could always destroy it to release the Brake lever but the autoparts store doesnt seem to have it. any tips would be appreciated.

Is there a choice for back brakes like hawk hps pads or does it matter?
