OK, when I am rolling to a stop after hitting my brakes, I feel what seems as if my back brakes free up like they were still catching and not fully released, upon that I hear a loud thunk noise when I feel the brakes let up. I am thinking it may be my e-brake being overly tightened. I dont really know, or my drums sticking for some really odd reason. This has been going on for a while now, but it is simply embarressing anymore. How do I adjust my e-brake? And is there a way to adjust the rear drums as far as breaking goes, not involving the e-break?

Sorry for my ignorance, bt I didn a mroe thorough search and figured out how to adjust the e-brake. But when you adjust the e-brake it is to tighten it right? My problem is I want to loosen it! HAHA! I know this has probably been answered b4, but when you take the rear drum off, do you just pretty much beat it off, or is there a clip or something holding it on?

if your cars drums have never been removed, there will be small clips around the studs holding it on, just cut those with wire cutters if they are on there.
Other than that, just pound on them.
You might still have other issues, but an adjustment is definitely where to start. I would recomend snapping a picture once you gt the drum off. If the problem persists, you can post that pic in this thread, and it will help us help you by being able to see your problems.
Thanks alot, I saw your pic on the other post. I appreciate all your knowledge and helping everyone here. I am going to tear into my brakes tonight(front and rear) and I will snap some pics. I always have trouble posting pics on here, but I will give it a shot!

I know the only way to learn is to do stuff yourself...but all these people asking about rear brakes should be letting experienced people diagnose and repair them. it's nothing personal, it's not a slight against anyone, it's just my $0.02. Then again, I know of at least one "licensed" tech who doesn't know his ass from a whole in the ground regarding rear shoes....ask Sweetness about it

Shew, blownblackz, you are probably right about leaving it up to the pros! I just changed my front brakes and it took me a little over an hour because I didnt have the right tools(C-clamp) and I didnt even get to the rear's tonight. I am going to dig in there tomorrow and take some pics and try to figure out what is going on. But the reason I dont take my car to shops is because I like tinkering with my car, it is a learning experience and it makes me feel closer to my prized possesion, and shops are way too expensive, god knows the army aint paying me that damn much money!

when it comes to things like brakes....if you dont know what you are doing, there is nothing wrong with getting some help.
of course I also find this:

very true too.
hopefully if you come across something you dont know how to do right, you know someone that can show you, so you learn the proper way in the process.
well, thanks for all the info you guys, but my problems have stopped since I have changed my front brakes. I thought for sure it was my rear brakes acting up because my rear supsemnsion would compress when I would come to a stop, but it hasnt been doing it all all today. But if it appears again, I will be sure to try everything you all stated above and I will snap some pics.
