Does anyone have a front suspension diagram with everything labeled by chance? I need bushings, and I don't think I got the right ones. I need to know what they're called. Thanks in advanced.
The bushings I need are the ones that sit vertically, looks like maybe they have a metal tube in them. There's two on each side, and a long bolt to hold them in.
When I had to have my steering box and linkage replaced, they had to take those bolts out, and when they did, the rubber was desintegrated, and they said it could be causing problems with my alignment.
I can only assume you're after the front bushings, as the rears are the more common ones to fail. It'll be either the front or the rear control arm bushing.

We don't have steering boxes and linkages. But we do have a steering rack. The steering rack has two bushings on it that two long bolts go through.

Right. The rack needed to be dropped. Tie rod ends were pulled, and these two bolts were removed on each side. One was taken out completely, one was just loosened to get the rack and rods out. They were vertical. Looks like control arm bushings go in horizontally in our car, and there's just a single bolt with a bushing on each side. Unfortunately, I can't get under the car right now to show you.
Jon - that kinda helps.
I'm wondering if it wasn't the sway bar mount, but i don't recall having to put a wrench at the top, and there were two of them per side. I'll see if I can snap a picture tomorrow.
if its the sway bar mount it should have nothing to do with your alignment. with our a-arm bushings on sits vertically and the other horizontally. but. i think your talking about the a-arm bushings. i think
I know it's black, of course, and has a metal bushing tube in it.
sounds like the hockey puck in the control arm to me.
