Brake problem (NEED HELP)

98' cavalier base . When i press on the brake some times it feels like the brakes are slipping or skipping what could cause this to happen. I have now idea what it could be it really sucks. Some times it almost makes me skip throw the stop sign PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY PROBLEM

almost like a surge huh?

start with taking a look at teh brakes pads and make sure they are not trash...also bleed the lines and make sure there is no air in there...

if you do those two and still the problems you either have a bad abs unit or a bad master cylinder

you could pull your abs fuse too and see if the problem goes away

Were is the abs fuse located at on the car .My abs light stays on for some reason. Know anything about that to maybe thats whats causing the problem.Thanks for the info.

check your rear wheel cylinders.my car was doing that n it turned out the wheel cylinders where leaking.

I had the exact same problem. My solution=the neon swap and it hasn't happened since. But then again it turned out to be bad drum brake cylinders. When I dissembled everything I saw that the cylinders were indeed leaking/bad.

same thing happend to me (turned out to be the abs was not working properly do to a bad wheel speed sens) if you unplug one wheel speed sens it will disable the abs (the light will come on but as long as its not flashing then the brakes will fuction just not with abs)
