take them out... put spring compressors to the springs.. use one socket and one open end wrench to the top nuts .. loosen.. .. pull springs out.. use compressor on the stock springs, and reverse obove.

if its stock struts, i can bet they are blown. you'll probably need a whole new setup.

Call a local junkyard and see if you can't get some pre-assembled stockers on decent (stock) struts, probably cost you ~100 in parts (that's how much it cost me anyway), and save you from having to use a spring compressor.

I did that once (needed something quick) and they were pre-assembled on mounts and everything. Saved a TON of time.

Otherwise, yes you will need a spring compressor. Probably not for the lowering springs, but you will need it for the stockers.
You can usually rent them from a car parts store (Autozone and Advance Auto around here have a tool-borrow programs. You pay a deposit, and then get that back when you're done with the tool - net cost to you: $0, you just have to front the purchase cost).

And, if those lowering springs were used on stock struts, they're hosed. If they were on something nice, like a Koni or D-spec you can re-use them (and should in that case).

No problem. It doesn't say where you're from in your profile, are you close to south-central indiana? If you are, I can help you change things out.

Hit me up with a PM if you're interested.
