Big brake problems
Monday, March 09, 2009 3:04 PM
I have a big problem with my 00 z24. My pedal goes very down and when I pump it, she's ok. I blood the break system (remove any air), Check every brake lines and everything is OK but it still the same thing. Is there something else that could cause this problem?

By the way, what is the torque for front axle nut? ... just to be sure...

pretty sure the front axle nut torque is 100ft lbs. As for your brake question, I don't know what " My pedal goes very down and when I pump it, she's ok" means. Maybe you can explain it a little more. If you are describing what I think you are, it for sure sounds like air to me.

I think he means it goes down too far/easy but pumps up fine.

Well it seems to me that either you didn't bleed the system properly or that the master cylinder is worn out/faulty. But beyond that I would need more information.

This man is correct. Be sure to tighten them down to spec with a torque wrench or you can prematurely write off the wheel bearing underneath it.
