Okay guys. Im lowering my car and i want to know if their is any links or write ups on a easy way to do it. I already have the springs and thats all im using (yes i know struts! but not until i save up some more) I just remember helping my brother with his cavi and it taking a reallllllyyy looonnng time. So is thier any tricks or something to save me some trouble because i need to use my car everyday so it cant sit long. I have already searched the forum and thier is nothing really about the hands on job. Thanks
when i was researching lowering my car i found
this walk through that was all of almost 3 years ago now. pictures are on the 3rd page. if youre not doing koni yellows then just ignore that whole part. its a good write up, so it will definately help and give you an idea of what you will need to do. once you have it all apart you'll get an even better idea of what you have to do. just doing my springs took me and my dad about 3 hours. and thats probably the longest it will take. definately have a second set of hands around though, it always helps.
good luck, hope that helps.
You'll have less down time if you do the springs and struts at the same time. Not to mention less headaches. Just get some AGX's or D-specs and toss the springs on them before hand(along with new mounts). If you do it that way then you'll just have a simple bolt in unit and the car will only be down for about 2 hours. Not to mention the money you'll save from only needing one alignment instead of two alignments(FYI my alignment at Pepboys cost me $70).
I can understand the excitement of getting new parts, but you still have to stop and think "what is the best way to do this?".

why would doing it that way only require one alignment?

If you talking to me. Every time you take the suspension apart, you need to get an alignment. With the OP doing it his way, he is going to have to take the suspension apart once to put the springs on and again to change the struts. Also the car is going to be out of commission ALOT longer.
