I just wanted to put it out there, that Overkill Engineering Motorsport's new Solid Front Camber mounts, do in fact work with the Ground Control Coilovers and Koni Yellows.
There were some issues with the original design but Mark was very helpful in making revisions to his design that accommodated this setup (I guess I was the first to attempt). As far as fitment, it's not perfect, as you can't go extremely low in the front, without running out of shock, due to the height of the adapters required for the pillow ball movement, but it is lowered.
I've had them on for more than a couple weeks now, and I have my control arms drooped just slightly past parallel to the ground, and no signs of issues with bottoming out over rough roads or rubbing anything. You have to use the tapered nuts that he's made to allow movement on the top of the pillow ball. This nut will cover the hex on the top of the shock that is supposed to be used to help torque the nut on, but I think most just impact it on anyways.
As far as how does it feel, in a single word, I would say, Responsive. The entire front end is so much more responsive than it was on the 99+ mounts (probably less of a dramatic change if your using the pre99 mounts), but the front end just has NO hesitation entering turns, taking off, stopping. No leaning or bobbing, just glorious dampened spring movement. Almost similar to the improvement the motor mounts give in removing play, which the 99+ mounts had tons of, being 10 years old.
Sorry for the longish post but wanted to share. Thanks Mark &
very nice. i love reading about parts working the way they were supposed to.
A+ review.
I'm tired of wasting my time... now I'm breakin' free.
