ok, so, i had to get my back hard lines done for my inspection, so, i took care of that, then i had to bleed the brakes. well, (i was at a shop, and helping the mechanics, since i don't have the tools for lines), the mechanic put in dot 4 fluid. ok, so the brakes are barely softer, but they are not as stiff as they were. so, now i'm driving, and then i smell something weird, and then i stop at a stop sign(i hear thats what you're supposed to do), and there's smoke coming out of my front wheel wells. no foam in the fluid, or anyhthing, and no leaks in my brake system. what did i do wrong?
oh, and it was after braking down a hill, so the brakes did have plenty of time to get really hot. but i always go down this hill, and that never happened before. but my wheels didn't even come off when i did the lines...just did the lines, so i don't get what happened...do new lines, or new fluid "break in"?
Breakfluid on your rotors?
didn't bleed the fronts...only the backs. only changed the back lines, and pedal felt good after bleeding the wheel cylinders. any other ideas? i need to use my car to go away for a week...leaving tomorrow...
