What size socket do i need? i know its a 6pt socket but im unsure of size.
mine was a torx socket, unsure of the size although its pretty small...
It's the opposite of Torx on mine. It's like E-8 or something. Check Autozone.

I'm pretty sure it's an E8 like stated. Out of all the E-torx sockets I have, the only one that's dirty is the E8 one.. and I know I've changed a few cylinders with one of them... so that must be it. I think I got my set at Princess Auto..
if you can't figure out what size it is then how do you expect to change it

I used a regular 1/4 inch socket.Just because the head on the bolt looks different it still fits on there.I tap on the socket with a hammer to loosen the rust.
....
Always use the right tools. If you screw the head up, what if that method doesn't work next time you have to change out the wheel cylinders.
My E-torx kit was like $7. Cmon.
Yes,your right using the right tools is a plus.I had all the rear brake parts apart and no way of getting to the auto parts store.
I changed mine today..Its a E-8 TORX Socket...get one at auto store for like 4 dollars
