Im thinking about getting a rear strut brace and was wondering how much they actually do or is it just more for show?
also my suspention is stock. i dont no if that knowledge matters but here it is anyways.
They're so cheap, you can't go wrong. I didn't notice any difference when I put mine on but it looks good either way
i have a front and rear brace honestly i felt a difference but the rear still swayed so now im ordering a tie bar from Phil Lindsey i would recomend geting that bar too
The tie bar won't keep the car from swaying.
The strut brace won't keep your car from swaying.
But the strut bar does tie the strut towers together so that under heavy driving, evasive maneuvers, and speedy offramps the towers stay parallel to each other without twisting or flexing like they would if the bar were not there.
It also helps the suspension by keeping the towers parallel so that the suspension can do it's job better in keeping the car stable.
Unlike the couple of comments above, I noticed a nice change for every chassis mod that I applied to my car.
The rear strut bar seemed to help the cars stability in the rear for me.
With the front and rear strut tower bars attached the car seemed to have a more stable ride and felt better all around with the way the suspension worked. High speed stability improved too which was a nice change since I do alot of highway driving in years past.
Do it.
You can't go wrong and if you really pay attention to your car, the way it handles, and the nuances that daily driving can only teach you, you'll feel the difference immediately and should put a smile on your face.
Get the RKSport bar since it's mounting uses all of the mounting points of the strut, which is three.
Most others only use two. Good luck.

i think maybe if both front and rear bars were installed at the same time (or removed at the same time) there may be a noticeable difference, but just doing one at a time like i did i did'nt notice squat in the handling.
Yea i do a lot of highway miles too. i was doin about 350 miles on the highway a week for the last few weeks. my average speed not including the construction areas was about 80 and that was the flow of traffic speed. i was also thinking about getting a front one too so i probably just get the rear one now and then get the front one when i find one onsale. and yes... they do look cool.
Get front and rear.
I'm running an aluminum Front and Rear STB, Tie bar, Triangulated rear brace, And front tower to core support bracing. All polished stainless steel.
All except the aluminum ebay STB's were made by me. My pics of my setup are on here, I'm sure they are easy enough to find.
Still need to build my fender braces and underbody bracing....I love polished SS
just check out misnblu suspension and see how awesome braces are
