So today I finally gave in and picked up some Eibach Pro Kit springs from Borderlin3... kind of psyched because my car does look kinda dumb with 17''s riding at stock height. I am a newbie when it comes to suspension upgrades; Im just going to fire off a few questions I have, would like to hear some opinions and if theres anyone in the NY/NJ/PA/CT area who'd be willing to help, I'd really appreciate it.
- Are Eibach Pros good springs? I know Eibach is a good name, but I know even good names sometimes have sub-par, entry level products
- Suggestions for new struts?
- How much money should i expect to spend on decent struts? I want to do this right, but I dont have a whole lot of money to piss away on big names.
- Are sway bars worth the cost?
Like I said, I'm not looking to do a cheap job, I want to replace the stock toothpick struts with something that can take some punishment (there are lots of crappy roads in NY) but doesnt need to be racing quality. I would put my budget at $500 max right now... but if this isnt going to work i dont mind waiting until i can afford to do it the right way.
Hey,
I had the sportline springs with koni yellows, but I know there are better struts out there now. I have been out of the game too long, but I know there is a brand that starts with a T that are really good. Anything that is good though you are going ti pay for.
As far as sway bars, I got the Eibach anti-roll kit for mine and it did wonders. Definatly worth the couple hundred and few hours of install time it took me.
I would say plan on spending close to a grand for really good struts.

OMG yes. I have Addco front and Progress rear and very very very little body roll. Addco was ordered from NeverEnoughAuto and rear from Jason@APlusPerformance.

Tokico D-specs. Koni Yellows and KYB AGXs are also popular. Just match up the "recommended drop" with the drop the springs provide.
Boost > N/A
180hp in 1989 or 260hp in 2008, you decide. Quad < Ecotec
tokico hp's, or tokico blue's as they're also known. cheaper than the d-spec's, and a good strut, but not adjustable.
