My rear sway bar
Sunday, November 14, 2010 4:34 AM
Pics of my 28.5 mm rear sway bar, granted this is just a prototype, all the mounting peices will most likely be changed and if there is a want for this to be replicated I will make sure all peices are top notch and look and work great.

Edit:someone help a brother out and fix this @!#$!, cant get past the epic fail red X

Re: My rear sway bar

interesting. so it's attached with "u" bolts everywhere?

Re: My rear sway bar

good idea, but the u bolt mounting is the weakness here. Sees like it has a bit of room to move around if it wants. Plus at that thick of a bar seems like you pretty much have lost all twist with that bar. I could be wrong but the suspension gurus can chime in.

So far there is no issues with dragging on anything, and the u bolts that mount it to the trailing arm will most likely change to brackets, and the car still rides good.

Everything is mounted extemely solid, bar is going no where as it sits now, Ive done some serious testing on this bar so far, 800 hard miles, tryin to make something come loose, nothing came loose so far. I have to admit the car feels absolutely amazing with this rear bar. I took a few more pics this morning, a few good rear shots im gonna post this afternoon to show how low the bar sits to the ground. The bar cant go up any higher as the mounts are heavy duty and make it hang down.

C&C welcome....but hey....
Makes you feel like a man with that kind of diameter.....

I admire the effort...and it prolly does work great on your car...

But it does look like you took a sway bar from another car and just "made it fit"

I think ill be sticking with my Eibach due to fit and finish / clearance

This setup is obviously for people who believe in function over form, although it doesn't look too bad imo.

Yeah, but why not have both? As long as it doesnt sit to low for your driving then it works. Just seems like the ends would have some room to move around but if youve tested it enough and it doesnt, then go with it. just seems like there could be a better way to mount it.

Everything is actually really solid, nothing came loose after some very hard cornering and rough roads. Bar is coming off when I get home off the road and is getting powdercoated and new U bolts are getting made out of cold rolled.

Trying to post more damn pics, but this @!#$in RED X haunts me....wtf am I not doing right with the pic posting?

You can tell us, Because if you don't say just to try to sell them, It won't work. No one will buy one. Just like Scott's non-abs master cylinder

My feelings wouldnt be hurt if I was the only person with this....... And if I was to try and sell them, why does it matter what it comes from if it works?
I guess I could just tell everyone and my hours of doing measuring and calculating could just be for nothing.......

why is everyone so quick to try and get a hand out here?

Look at it this way...if you dont wanna buy....DONT.....quit trying to rain on my parade
