Koni Yellows for under $700?
Wednesday, November 17, 2010 3:17 AM
Does anyone know where get these for less than $700, or for the lowest price in general? I would really like to do a complete suspension overhaul, but the cost of good shocks is holding me back. The AGX and D-Specs are cheaper, but if I'm gonna spend that much already I want to get the Koni's.

Get the d-specs over konis.....Konis are great and all but after owning 2 sets I know I wont go back to them. So depending on how low your going the agx's could be just fine, or the d-specs if you wanna go lower.

philly- why do you say that? ive got nothing but good to say about my koni's. only bad part is having to make them work vs just bolting them on. its worth the work as far as i am concerned.

D-Specs are full replacements as opposed to Konis which are inserts. Meaning you have to cut up your front stocks......

It's the price that scares me not the install. Even with the Koni's reusing stock parts and the D-Specs being a complete assembly I still want to get the Koni's for some reason. Will I feel a difference with just a Pro-kit? The car will also have a rear sway bar and aluminum control arms with Prothane bushings. I can't remember what made me think the Koni's have better performance.

May seem silly but both sets I've had the shocks have blown. And for some reason always the front pass side. Both sets were not on crazy drops either.... Sprints and intrax springs. Just feel it's time for a change. Going STD,s or teins....

Which set did you prefer in the turns?

Out of the springs I had....they were very much the same. I am liking my intrax springs so far though. But if I hadnt of bought my car with these already on it id of went eibach.

Pro-Kit is a higher spring rate so yes you will feel a difference but some of that is dependent on the dampening setting you choose for your struts.

Thanks for the responses. I found a great deal on the D-Specs so Im now 50/50 on which shock to go with... obviously they are both great products. Im gonna buy one of these tomorrow.
Which one has a wider adjustment range from comfort to feel everything performance?

I found a sweet deal on the Koni's and I need some mounts before I install everything. The OEM solid mounts look amazing, but they aren't cheap. How about some current opinions from people running these things. I mean are they worth it? Do they add much noise or give a rougher ride?

the roughness of the ride is really up to the springs. I love my Koni yellows, I did have one go bad but it was running for 5 years on another car before I got it so that's not bad.
