whenever i am going in reverse and shift to drive, there is always a popping noise (sounds like from under the car, in the back) I have no suspension mods, i do have a cat back system, but it was making the noise when everything was stock, anyone have a similar problem?
Its not in the rear of the car but one of your engine mounts might be bad
I used to get some weird sounds when shifting into gear and the RKsport upper mount cured it.
I am all that is man
is it soemthing urgent or can it wait like a month to be fixed?
Well if it is the upper mount I think your ok. THe motor has more play than normal.
But thats IF thats the problem. Start the engine, pop the hood, and rev the motor at the throttle body. You will be able to see if there is alot of play in the motor. It will jerk back and forth when you goose it.
I am all that is man
Exactly, I put in both mounts today, but I played with the engine after putting in the upper and it basically cured the noise.
does anyone sell them cheaper than RKSport?
should i just get the upper insert or both?
I did both, the lower one will usually add some vibration to the car, theres no need to do both, though most people do. I got mine from Jim at Gravana, Car Customs is a good place to check too.
