Ok, i have one rear wheel that i cant get off because of 4 of the lugs on it, I dont have the key for. The original key was cheap and bent and stripped itself after using it on the 4 lugs. so where i got the rims and lugs sent me 2 new keys, neither which match. they claim its the same key, but i know its not, ive tried multiple times and and you can tell by just looking at them that they are different.
so my question is, is there any possible way to change out a rear strut while the wheel is still on? i tried to jack it up and see if there was enough room to do it, but the one pin bolt looks to be tucked away.
can anyone give me some ideas on how the hell to get this tire off, or better yet, how to get this strut in? any help is appreciated

mpst good tire shopa will have a socket kit that can remove locking lugs as well as stripped ones, I have a set...lol
Just take it out from the back side when it is jacked up. Jack up the rear suspension and do it like normal minus the wheel being on.
But if its a 95 up cav you should be able to just jack it up and pull the 18mm bottom bolt and remove the upper strut plate bolts and pull it down and change it that way, Im not positive if theres enough room but its worth a shot...
well i wwent to a tire shop, and they said they could prolly do it, but couldnt guarantee they wouldnt kill my rims, so i siad screw that.
but as far as the 18mm bolt goes, i tried that the other day, but couldnt get it off. it seemd like that is the bolt with the slotted grooves in it, kinda like the fronts. i think the inside bolt(one facing the inside of the rim) is the one i have to loosen, then pull the bolt out.
i havent taken out the rear struts since last year, so im forgetting pieces of the puzzle, lol

ok, now im thinking the the bolt facing the inside of the rim is welded on, and the inner bolt is the one i gotta pull out. when i tried it the other day, it would not come free, but maybe it was because of the air ratchet i was using. maybe id have better luck with the impact gun.
can anyone confirm this?

ok, everything is cool. i got the strut out, without taking the wheel off. i actually found it easier with the wheel on, because when your doing it yourself, its hard to lign up the strut mount holes when the suspension is pushing up on the bottom of the strut.
but thanks for the help guys.
