Air-ride guys, a few questions!
Thursday, July 21, 2005 11:04 AM
Just a few questions regarding the Easystreet kit.

How the ride quality compared to stock? With lowering springs? My car is my daily driver and always will be.

Weird noises, suspension parts wearing out? Any of that?

Winter, would it be better to swap stock stuff back on and plug lines, or could I safely run it with the snow etc.?

Quality of fittings? Good I assume being Easystreet but I'd still like to know.

Dependability? Anyone have blow-outs? I hear they do happen, and that scares the @!#$ out of me.

Thanks! Any other facts please POST!

I have easystreet front struts. I love air ride but Im not going to blow smoke up your arss. Mine ride like crap now. The built in struts are blown. THey cost just under $100 each to replace. The upper mounts are great for getting low to the ground for show reasons but make all sorts of noises. I have recently swapped over to 95-99 model upper strut mounts and still have noise issues.

My car is a daily driver and I just cant stand it anymore. My air is coming off soon.
My car on air rides better than coilovers on stock struts (thats not saying a whole lot)
My car road WAYYYYYY better on Tein springs than it ever did on air. But my teins are gone and I'll be on Goldlines soon.

ive never had a problem. the only problem i have is that cluncking noise which is hopefully gonna be fixed when i swap in the new mounts. as for fittings, i only broke one in over a year and my car is a dd and i used my air during winter

with my air it use to clunk alot but it doenst nemore. from wat i heard the clunking can sometimes be air bubbles or something.. but as far as noise idont have ne nemore...for ride quality mine rides great i love...it just takes time to get the settings n psi set to the right height n everything. but as for driving in winter etc, i wouldnt know mine is only show driven.....but as for everything else i love my air ride.

What strut mounts are recommended for bags? I know for my coils I run the 95-99 modded.

ESB- You can replace the built in struts?

easystreet comes w/ the new mounts for a direct bolt-in. i think you can buy seperate struts too if yours blow to replace

I drove mine in every weather. It was fine. Then the top bolt stripped on one. Got it replaced with alittle bit of effort but easystreet made right on it. I did not get the new mounts even after I put my name down to get them but I don't plan on using them anyways. Too much of a hassle after hearing that they don't take the noise away. Made markings in my hood that ßãggéÐÇåv98 (Ûñqùðtäߣè Øñé) now has so he can attest to those markings.
ESB even got dimples on his from them. I don't know if they changed the strut length on them to fix that.
Other than that I am just peachy with them. Cause they have not been on the car for over 6 months.

lol yea my old ss hood had those marking on them. its a little worse on the hood i have now from hitting some pretty big bumps but its nothing serious and it wont come through the top of the hood so i dont worry about that

I love my easystreet kit! I have them on and running with my 19's C5s.

Of course it rides better than stock struts and lowering springs that I used to have on the car!

I always drive my car slammed and tucking my tires with 4 fenders rolled.

Also height is adjustable.... this is great!

I had some clunking sound twice or so but after some more time driving experience on the air. No more clunking for me ever since!

It takes some time to get things right during an installation. Its just a time consuming!

You will need some practice and play with the kit then you will be good.

You will get alot of attention like no other! You will enjoy it!

Also its better to have some back up air line, valve, tools etc with you just in case.

tsk tsk @ me..... I dont have any of those items for a back up yet.

Hope it helps!

Yes the kit comes with its own mounts. But I swapped over to 95-99 modded and it got rid of some noises. But also lifted it about an inch.

YES you can replace the strut. Its all unbolts. JUst remove the bag and stick it on new strut. Ive replaced one already for $90-95 I forget exact price. But now both of my fronts are blown again.

But I give up. ONe of my rear bags made from the same people that make this easystreat kit just fell apart. the bottom plate just pooped compleately off the bag.
Ive got the Goldline springs in the back and soon as I find some new front mounts Ill be removing the BLown arss clanky easystreet front struts for good.

Nope. people keep asking to buy the blown struts. So if I do sell they will go with the struts.

Most everything I have will be going on my S10. And I might even hack up the cavy struts to operate a tilt bed setup.

THats why I made myself suffer with the bagged cavy untill I baught a truck.
Im waiting for my new upper strut mounts to come in right now. I cant wait to get these things off.

ANd with the truck I can drag the whole freakin frame instead of just the receiver hitch I drug on the cavy. IT WILL BE WAY BRIGHTER
