Roll Bar for 95+ Sedans

Anybody know where I can find one?

IO Port has one, but says its for 2004 and up. Anybody know why that wouldn't work in my 97? I have never noticed a difference in the newer sedans.

Is that the Autopower one? I'm guessing it is since its from IO Port. I think Autopower is the only company that makes one, but I remember it being on the market for several years now, so it can't just be for 04+.

Most likely they just don't know better. I've seen plenty of stuff that will fit 95 to 01, 99 to 04, or some weird range like that; seen plenty of suspension parts that "will not work on convertibles", like their suspension is different somehow. Someone who isn't an expert in Js picks a few years that they know will work, or they have tested it on. That's how those oddball year come about usually. I would call just to make sure with something safety related like a roll cage, but it should work on any third gen.

I would say its probably one of those mislabled listings. I know for a fact I've seen bars/cages for 95+ Js long before '04, because I got my car in 99, and one of the first htings I wanted was a bar, so I started looking. Could always find them for 95+, never 94.

Heres an '01 with the Autopower bar

S&W weld in roll bar/cage (this is what I have in my car, its set up for a circle track car, so when I installed it, I had to modify it quite a bit)

I'm thinking about doing that since I would spend about $150 just to have the roll bar shipped to me.

I paid $260 shipped for the S&W one. About the only piece I really used was the main hoop and harness bar. Everything else got cut/spliced/bent to work. At least it was a good starting point.

Are you wanting a complete roll bar kit? Or just a bar going from side to side behind the driver's seat.

Nah, I need something to properly tie my seatbelt into and mount a camera on.

There was a guy at the Bash who had a custom built harness bar like you're looking for. I'm not sure who he was, but I helped him replace his ICM.

Does anybody know if the RK Sport bar is the same as the Autopower one?

I have been looking at getting a roll bar for mine as well to help stiffen up the chassis some more, and liked the RK one but it seems a bit pricey.

I was also looking at the Autopower Full Race bar with the removable crossbrace and diagnol brace, but 458 without shipping is kinda steep and id probably pay 100 bucks top have it shipped to Texas.

I think i would rather have a bolt in bar than a weld in bar, atleast at this point, the bolt in can always be fuly welded in at a later date if i decide to make it permanent.

Any idea how much one of these bars weighs??

Also anybody got any other pics of one installed in a J-body??
