I was wondering what would be the best lowered suspention for daily driving. i like the stance of the ground controls, but aren't coilovers harder than lowering springs? I don't autocross or anything, i just want to kill the wheel gap. if not the gc's, then probably goldlines, eibach pro's, or sprints (all with struts koni yellow, tokico d-spec). i read the FAQ, but i just wanted to hear from people that drive their lowered car everyday.
Everyday, lowring springs, and some shocks will do you.
If you want to just eliminate wheel gap and provide a nice ride I wouldn't go much lower than 1.5".
You may be able to get away with stock struts on a 1.5" drop, someone should chime in who's done it.
if you want a simple boltup and adjustability I'd reccomend KYB AGX's. With the yellows you need to cut the original strut body for the front inserts. I don't have experiencw with the tokico's.

i have the Tokico D-specs with goldlines for about 6 or 7 months now, and the ride and look is amazing IMO. I love the ride more than the look, and they are so easily adjustable. i love em, and ive rode alot of different suspensions in J's, and these are by far the best i've ever experienced. although, im selling my setup to go air ride

How much for the D-Specs Eazy716? Shoot me an email...........
I've been running the Eibach Pro-Kit on stock struts and shocks for quite some time. I commute 100 km (60 miles) daily and have found them alright to live with. The ride's a little harsher but I accept that for the improvement in look and handling.

Eibach Pro Kit and KYB AGX (1.4")
Eibach Sportlines and Koni Yellows (17" F 2.3" R)
Sprint and Koni Yellows (2" all around) This may be a little much bepending on where you live)
Gold Line and Koni Yellow (1.75")
H&R with Koni Yellows (AGX will be a pushing the limits) (1.6")
Koni yellow may be substitued with Tokico D-Specs.
Depending on where you live you may want to think about the drop. Rough roads and many areas what may have to many steep driveways you may not want to be so low. If smooth plaec and no hills the you could go with a lower drop.

Mines my dd and i ride on goldlines and koni's. Nice firm ride, i scrape the front sometimes but i've gotten used to taken everything at angles so that helps. If i had to do it again i'd prolly go a lil bit less of a drop like h & r. My rear looks like its at about a 2" drop instead of 1.75"

i have or shall i say had koni yellows and sprints and it was just fine for everyday driving. The odd speed bump would hit the exhaust but those are the monster ones we have up here.phil
Koni sport kit and i drive all over lower michigan from howell to flint to pontiac to port huron and all over everything north of 8 mile and it is fine. back sits lower now that the box is in but it's still all good. if i wanna change the ride i just pop the trunk and the hood and rotate. can't beat it with a stick, but you could with switches
I run Megan Racing springs and Monroe shocks/struts. The front is 2" lower and the rear is 1.5" lower. The rear springs are supposed to drop the car 1.8" but my car didn't settle or something, I don't know. Anyway, the springs aren't too bad for $110.00, considering I autocross and as far as daily driving, the spring rates aren't so brutal that you'll hate driving the car.
I have Koni Reds and Sportlines. The ride is great and drive the car daily. I've had them on the car since Aug 02 and not one problem!! If I could redo them, I'd grab the Gravana set up now or koni yellows (with ground controls) for the adjustability.
I have a Type J kit and scrap from time to time in the front and the muffler hits when going over speed bumps, but they are the bigger speed bumps. Overall, very satisfied with the set up and today, this set up is not all that expensive either.
If you decide to do the Konis, it's not as hard as you think. I had never dealt with the J suspension before I installed mine. Took me about 4 hours total to do the front and rear as well as put in a rear sway bar.
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
I used to have Eibach Sportlines with Koni Reds... but I found it was too low for daily driving. The Eibach Pro-Kit (with Koni Reds) that I'm riding on now is a much nicer ride. Not as low, doesn't look "as cool" but it sure doesn't hurt my ass.
I'm loving my Yellows and Pro-Kit, its a daily driver, the highways are nice and smooth but the neighborhood streets bit big time. the ride it just fine. I have a bad back and i the set-up doesn't bother me. and the car has a finished look to it, instead of looking like a 4x4.
good luck with whatever you go with, biggest thing to keep in mind ids that when you lower upgrade those struts, but you knew that cause it's in the FAQ right

My AGX's have held up fine so far on the H&R's. I live off dirt roads and I've even taken my car offroading (hitting large potholes at 40+mph, etc). AGX's are a solid strut in my opinion.
