OK, occording to my VIN# my 97 Sunfire is a SE, and the badges on the car just say Sunfire, the thing is that besides that, my car is 100% identical to a GT, (LD9, body, interior, options, I mean everything). I was told that only GT's came with 2.4's, let alone everything else. So are these people wrong, or was car special ordered fromthe factory like this?
the sunfire SE can have the 2.4 in it, but it looks just like a regular sunfire...no dual exhaust, different bumpers and skirts from a GT, no door panels, 15" wheels max...16" 3 spoke were GT only in those years.

Damn, where'd you get all that info
I geuss my car came with every option it could have came with then, although I thought you could get a sunroof.
What got me wondering about this was that last time I was at a meet, there was someone there with a stock GT, and exept for being a different color, and having GT badges, it was the exact same car I got. So either they made some GT's with single exaust tips, and the same bumbers as SE's, or that car wasn't really a GT.
I do know the body style ronin is talking about, theres one in town about the same year as mine, I just thought it was a different year, either way, I like the syling of my car better, and its got all the goodies of a GT wich makes it quite a bit of a sleeper too, wich is always fun.
Hmmm, The sunroof was optional on the GT and SE. I didn't notice that it wasn't there.
Weird.
SE is a GT in sheeps sheet metal.
Ok that explaines alot...I have seen GT's with my body style though, I thought the one with different bumpers and (fake) dual exaust where just post 1997. I could always just put stock GT emblems on the car and no one would know the difference, but I don't do that sort of thing. Does that mean they put LD9's in non-Z24 cavy's too?
here's what my car looks like just to clarify things.
no the duel exhaust and different bumpers were on all gt's from 95 up (until the 03's), yours IS an se with an ld9
and he's got 02+ z24/LS Sport rims
