i have a 1996 pontiac sunfire 2.2l se coupe. i need to now how much it gets to the gallon. how many miles to the gallon. i just had my fuel pump done in my car and the gas guage won't work. it reads full everytime. if anyone has any ideas please let me now. thanks.
about 30 is the average for most. but it also depends on if you have an auto or manual, drving conditionds (city driving, or highway), the way the driver drives

i would just fill it up, drive one hundred and fifty miles, then fill it up again, and note how much gas you have to put in to fill it. you should have a 13 gallon gas tank.

13 or 15? I'm pretty sure 15...
i never have put more then 12 in my car, and that was after i was 400 miles into a long trip down the road, maybe its 15 for sunfires. but maybe my gas gauge is off too... lol
yeah my gas gauge stopped working correctly after i used SeaFoam. but luckily i was trackin how many miles i got per tank. now i have my tripometer on and just use that. i drive a mix of city and highway. i used to get 300 and still ahve 1/8 of a tank left so i would drive 300 then fill up, now (winter) im going about 200-250 then filling up... i know i have gas still but thats the point... not to run out! hahaha when i fill up around 250 miles i usually put in 8-10 gallons
but yeah, conditions and driving behavior are the biggest factors... but you should be save going 200 for sure. better save than sorry
for the 2002 cavalier z24 my tank holds 14.1 gallons of gas. i get around 320 to 380 miles out of the tank. and when the check gauges light comes on i have about 60 miles left then its gone. but i got 434 miles out of 1 tank. i drove on the highway all the way. i was in south dakota on that one highway. i was going about 70mph.
Around 25-26 for mostly city driving. My gf gets about 27-28 mixed.

ok thanks guys for all your imput. it helps me alot. why is my guage not working but did work right before i had the fuel pump put in.
i have a 98 Z24 and with a full tank of gas and a 5 speed, i got 340 miles on a full tank. i averaged 25 mpg in the city.
