Hey guys, well nate, is who I was thinking of since your trans is not doing so well.. but any way I found 3 G6 6 speed tranny's on ebay. Im pretty sure they are the same bell housing as the 3400's. Id get one but I like my auto for daily driving. both my trucks are sticks and it gets tiresome shifting all the time.

Yeah, I've seen them. They've been selling those crate trannies for almost a year now.

What it will take to swap is a custom flywheel. The bellhousing is the same pattern, but the 3900 uses the new dual mass flywheel design, which is thicker, so the tranny bellhousing is a little deeper. Also, the tranny is considerably heavier than ours, and the gearing isn't great.

I was seriously considering doing that swap, but the more I looked into it, the less desireable it became, even though I wanted to do it just to have it.

Best bet before doing it is to look on 60degreev6 and see if anyone there has dabbled into doing that swap onto their 3x00. There isn't much in the way of 3rd gen 660 swappers there, but you can get a fairly good starting point from the guys on that board.

That's where I got my info. Someone on there did the swap, I believe it was in a 2nd gen, and it was a hell of a project.
He had posted up the pics of the two flywheels next to each other showing the major differences.

From what i have gathered so far about swapping a 6-speed to an eco J. Is that the trannys are around the size of the F35 and the F35 is too big to just be a drop in mod.
