What is all required to swap a 2.2 OHV into a Sunfire Gt which had a 2.4? I mean mount wise will it all bolt up fine, and use the same trans? I'm mainly wondering if the harness from the two will swap easily, like does it require a different harness or will the old 2.4 harness work with the 2.2? I'm sure this has been asked before and sorry for not searching but I'm using internet at a hotel, and short on time. TIA
not even worth it .. . easy way out is to find a good workin 2.4 .. it may be more $$$ but will still save you time and money ..
I would agree....you would need basically everything from under the hood of your donor....to take a hit on power.....I would spend the extra $$ and get the 2.4 myself.
Ok cool, thanks guys. I'm more of a 2nd gen guy, but a friend needs to swap this blown motor for his old lady and doesn't want to spend the cash for the 2.4, but if the trans wont bolt up, then I suppose it we will start looking for the 2.4.

Just do it right, replace the 2.4.
Or at least swap an Ecotec in there...
To downgrade would be the DEVIL.
Basicly you want to keep with the 2.4 as the others would be a downgrade.
