I find myself installing a 2.2 OHV engine from the wrecker in my son's 1997 Sunfire; Goodness knows what he did to the original engine but it is now a suitable boat anchor.
Normally I am quite particular about marking hoses and vacuum lines so that i can put them back correctly
However, I must have been day dreaming and I cut the heater hoses off since i was planning to install new ones as part of the project - i did not mark them
so - looking at the firewall from the engine compartment - there are two heater hoses coming from the heater core - Taking the hose on the driver's side - does this connect to the tube that runs to the thermostat housing or to the water box on the driver's side end of the cylinder head
I thank you for the advice in advance
don't know if it's the same for the 2.4's and 2.2 Eco motors, but the hose from the driver side firewall went to the driver's side of the motor.
I haven't worked on the OHV, just telling you what I've seen with the two motors I've worked on.

driver side goes into the engine itself, the passenger side one routes around the engine to the thermostat. I would take a pic for you, but I forgot my camera at home.
Thanks for your hep
I stooped to an old trick- I went across the street and asked the lady of the house if i could look under her hood
suggestive question indeed
hell, I went out to my car to check quickly for you, lol.
