clutch pedal problem

ok so the car shifts real good when im driving and usually the clutch pedal goes up half way and the car goes but when im at stop or a hill if i hold the clutch in for too long the pedal will only go up a half inch and the car will take off, its also gotten stuck down, but only if i hold the clutch in for a long time it will do that.Whats going on?

I had the same problem, turned out to be the master cylinder.

Maybe air in the lines. If not, I'd say you got a leaking slave cyl. Have fun pulling the trans out. Been there, done that (about 6 times now.)

yeah just might need to bleed it because found out that the hose thAT goes to the resevoir has a leak on it

When my camaro was doing exactly what you're describing it was a leak internal to the slave cylinder.

Have fun.

It could be the master, which would be easier.

Dropping the trans on my F-body was a 3-hour job. I shudder to think what it will be like on the FWD J...

The first time I did it it took about 6 or 7 hours total with my dad. I've had it in and out now about six times. I can do it by myself in about 3 hours now.
