I took my car for a quick rip around the block the other day. First time its moved in a few months. Anyway I heard this loud vibration in the engine bay almost as soon as I got onto the street. I've had this issue for a while now, it seems to happen if the rpms go up gradually, there is no vibration if its wide open throttle. I am certain its the intake because there is a small patch of paint missing on the inside of the hood, however I don't see any damage to the intake. It sits flush with the throttle body, I've checked and rechecked everything. I've been thinking of just cutting off the tab in the intake where the throttle cable gets mounted to, not sure if thats the problem area though. Anyone else have issues with the AEM intakes? If so what is a good fix? If it wasn't illegal i'd drive without the damn hood, thats how annoying and aweful sounding the vibration is! Here is a pic to give a general idea, the intake looks as if its sitting high, but the pic is a year old. Its sitting maybe a quarter inch above the valve cover right now.
Its gotta flex some where man. maybe you need an aftermarket dog bone.

Try flipping the pipe it should not sit on valve cover
start the car and have somebody give it gas and see if the motor moves alot, its prolly just from where the engine rocks. you could try and aftermarket lower mount and upper mount for the motor.
Depending where its been sitting for the last few months your motor mount may have just rotted out or something.
