hey guys noticed the other day when i'm sittin in traffic my sunfire which is a 98 2.2 the car was making a hummin noise then when i push the clutch in it goes away it's got a whole new clutch kit in it not to long ago seems to work fine any ideas also it has developed a shake at 3000-4500 rpm too for some reason too ???
My 99 2200 does that sometimes, but it's more like a light rattle. I can push the clutch pedal down and let off, and the noise usually goes away. I've put over 30,000 miles on the car without issue so I don't really worry about the noise. Does it sometimes with the new clutch in it also. As far as the shake goes I couldn't tell you. Only time my car ever shook at a certain rev range was when the front O2 was going bad and running pig rich.
I was checkin it out more last night and it sounds like a pump hummin and when i push the clutch in it goes away then when i let it out it comes back its not real loud tho and i can only hear while i'm at an idle as for the shake that comes and goes.
Throwout bearing is bad. No telling how long it'll last. Could go a long time like that.

It is TOB related. I was always told that it means TOB is bad, but I have had brand new knows do it. I think it is from no pressure holding it against the fingers on the pressure plate.

yep TOB...mine was doing that for about 5 months. The other day it finally blew out on me.
