Any 3400/3.4 will bolt up. The only thing that they changed in a few of the crossover and vans is the intake manifold (taller and throttle body is on the passenger side)

that would be a good turbo motor

I thought the weird TB was only on the Pontiac Torrent. I thought other minivans still had the same UIM as the cars.

SHOoff, I don't remember all of the models, but I know the Equinox does, as well, and I thought I ran into one that was from a newer van as well (maybe the Uplander), but I can't rmemeber what it was. At any rate, I was merely throwing that out there as something to look for, but that all of the motors will bolt up.

mikieb510, I've thought about trying that intake for a turbo setup, but I think there might be a hood clearance issue, as the intake is much taller than the other style. I have yet to find a used one, so I haven't been able to try it out.

The uplander has the 3500, and the TB is on the side like normal. All the 3400's will bolt up, and even if it has the goofy UIM, you can always change it out.

FYI, I found some good pics of the Equinox/Torrent 3400. It's the first one I've found without the plastic cover on it. After looking again, I have no question it won't clear the hood. If you look close, it pretty much looks like a regular 3400 intake, but the TB is attached to a gooseneck coming out of the top of the UIM. It looks to me like you could replace it with a standard UIM and it would be fine. In spite of the fact that these engines don't use the standard PS pump, it looks like it was designed to clear it.

I'm curious to see what the rear exhaust manifold is like on that equinox 3400. If anyone has any pics post them up please. It would help for my egr delete since it doesnt have the egr tube on the back manifold.

They are doing a good job with the regular 3400 manifold, as it can be turned around. Also, if you've ever seen one, and how it sits in the car, this wouldn't fit in there, either. The engine sits under the firewall cowl in the 4th gen, and there isn't much clearance over the regular 3400 manifold.

RedCavilac, the manifold looks to be almost identical, but the only pics I've seen still have the heat shields on, so you can't tell for sure. The only way to know would be to try it. I actually still want to try the 3500 manifolds. They have no crossover, and they're a short ram style. If they fit, they would be great for a twin snail setup. Also good for a true dual exhaust.
