2200 single to dual head
Thursday, July 30, 2009 4:31 PM
Im wanting to swap a single 2200 head to a dual ecotech head. Is this even possible and if so what do i need to do this project?

not even remotely possible. two completely different engines. for example, it would be like putting a head from a b-series honda on a subaru boxer engine.

Do you even understand how an OHV works differently from a DOHC?

I think the OP believes that the 2200 is a SOHC not a OHV.

Some re-education seems necessary.

This is possible. I see it called a SOHC quite often....

im building a 2.2 atm.

parts are expensive. and more often than not, you will find yourself custom building/fitting alot of parts.

some parts like intakes, rods and valves you can buy. other parts like rockers, and springs will come from a sbc. iirc cam profiles between the ln2 and sbc are very similar too.

its not possible, although some people seem to think they need to be kinda rude about it, its really unnecessary.

there are a lot of posts on how to swap in an ecotec or 3x00 v6, id shoot for something in that range.

SBC = Small Block Chevy

BBC = Big Block Chevy

Jon, alot of us come off as "rude" because posts like these are very common and we get tired of answering them. There already have been 4-5 posts this year about this very topic and if people did some basic research they will get their answer.
