i just swapped out my 97 steering column for a 95 with tilt steering and an ignition that works lol.I try to start the car, the fuel pump primes and the car runs for about 3 seconds with the light on before the light starts blinking nd the car shuts off, theres only 3 wires for the theftlock so it cant be that hard to bypass, even if i have to put the old ignition under the dash i just want it gone.

How did you do it. I need to know please.
Start the car. As Michael keigan stated the car will run for a few seconds and shut off. At this point the anti-theft light will come on the dash. Leave the key in the ignition where it is(it will be in the run position) for appx 10 min, or untill the antitheft light stops blinking. afterwards, shut ignition off and take the key out of the ignition. From this point on you should be set and can start the car as see fit. The passloc needs to be reset and it needs a relearn anytime you change the switch, lock cylinder, or gauge cluster. Hope this helps.
Cheers!!
acutally theres two ways of fixing this, the real way is to use an ohmmeter and find the resistance value sent back to the passlock module. the easy way( as long as you dont mind having a red light that says "theft system" on) is to start the car and let it die, wait the ten minutes and restart, the car will run, at this time let the car run and remove the cover on the column, there will be the plug for the theft lock connected to the ignition, unplug the harness and button the column cover back up. the passlock will now be disabled. but like i said, you will have the light on...
