Stationary Rev Limiter?

So... I know that theres an option in HPTuners for the stationary rev limiter but it doesnt seem to work on my car. Most of you would love to get rid of the stationary limiter but I want mine to work. Because I kind of want to use it as a 2 step limiter for launches. What the heck is making it now work? I'd figure it'd just be based off the VSS but apparently not.
Or... Does the stationary rev limiter on 2002 eco Cav's just not work?

While i'm not an HPTuners expert in the least bit, by common knowledge of how things work in the car I would take a guess that this is the rev limiter that keeps you at 4000rpm when the car is in Park, or Neutral under 20mph. Since you have a manual transmission and thus lack having a Park position on your trans, I would take a guess as to why it's not working.

But you'd figure that it'd still work with either clutch in or the E-brake pulled.

I got it! wire the clutch safety switch to the parking switch!

You'd probably need the automatic trans flash to start with... so the limiter would be in place. Then need the output from the trans selector to fool the PCM into thinking you were in park or neutral.

Probably easier to get an MSD DIS-2 and use the 2-step limiter function built into it... as it's actually for that purpose, instead of trying to hack the stock PCM garbage.

There's also a table called launch spark which is just 0'ed out. Once I get the car tuned I guess I'll fiddle with that. I'd rather save the money and work with the stock pcm and hp tuners than buy an msd box. 2 steps not that important.

No you wouldn't. What you would figure is that there are parts of the program missing on the Manual computer since it doesn't have to control the transmission. I'm not even sure if the control hardware is even in one.
