Looking to find out what years had the EGR port in it. 96 to 98 and 99 to 02. Thanks.
EGR parts are found on the 96 to 98 only. Both versions (96 to 98, and 99 to 02) have the pass-through hole in the head.. but the 99+ exhaust manifold has it blocked off, and there's nothing connected on the intake side.
ive often wondered why GM took the time to re-design the 99-02 head yet leave the EGR passage....
Though no J-body car had EGR on the 2.4L for the 99+ model years... I've heard that some other platforms (N-body, specifically) did. I've never seen one, personally... but people on here have said in the past that they have seen them.
I have seen 98 engines in 02 cars (at the wrecking yard) with the EGR valve still attached, but not functioning. That doesn't mean the car came with it...

There is no such thing as a 99.5 J-body car... according to GM. N-body, maybe.. I don't know. But I've never seen a single 99 with EGR.. and I've seen lots of 99's, and owned two (one of which was within the first 1000 built.. so..)
same here john this 99.5 is BS because the 99 model year started after july shut down in 98 usually end of july begining of august is when the next year production run starts and my 99 is an october 98 and i never had EGR
so 2012s will start full production shortly withing a month or so then start arriving at dealings in september sometime this is longer depending if a certian car had too many build still in the system this is usually only an issue when a car is used for fleet use as some places will put in an order just before the deadline usually to grab some incentives.
