I hope this is the right place. I have a 1986 Cav RS Convt. The old 2.0 finally started to knock, loud. Engine toast with high Km on it. Currently bidding on a Cobalt SS, 5Spd. This is a wrecked/wrote off car. Will have the entire car, where this is heading is what is major problems I can encounter? Processor alarm/shut down, changing dash,speed sensors, radio controls. I do also own a 2009 G-5 and know how much these cars communicate over a bus. Any help will be appreciated if this has been done to any car before.

What are your plans? Are you looking to do a motor swap, or rebuild the Cobalt?

All you've said are that your current car has a junk engine, and you're bidding on a totaled car.
