Kove Armageddon. Memphis. JL W7. Image Dynamics ID MAX. Soundstream Mule. Elemental Designs seems to have decent stuff. Boston Pro. Focal. Digital Design. Lots of choices, man. What's your poison?

The majority of those subs are probably out of his price range (except maybe the elementals, and low-end memphis and DD subs). I know up here in Canada there's no way I could find any of those (except maybe the mule and bottom-end DDs) for $300US each, but I've seen some crazy deals for you US guys so who knows.

From experience, the JL W3 series are consistently louder, but sound (almost) as good as the W6 series. Type Rs sound good and get loud in the right box (ie TCAB). Every Kicker sub I've heard goes loud but have poor SQ. I don't like RF, so I won't comment further on those subs.

Out of those subs you listed I would chose either JL sub (leaning toward the 15w3v2) or the Type R. If you can get in on the group purchase, go with a 15" SX

The 50-50-90 rule: Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.

I guess this is true. I really have no idea what the prices are like in Canada but there are a ton of shops around here where you can get those products, especially in Omaha, and in all reality, $300 USD isn't unrealistic for most of those. Although, the Kove stuff may cost more towards $350-$400, but it's worth every penny. When I was sponsored by Stereo West in Omaha, the top end DDs were around 500, but one single sub could take a 10 second blast at 8K watts and keep on smiling. The only problem was they weren't meant to reproduce "music". The Soundstream Mule does it all, and for under $300 to boot.

underpowering doesn't hurt anything. just don't turn the gain up to try to compesate for lack of power and you'll be just dandy.

I would consider investing in a bigger amp eventually...those sx's like to play loud

Your amp is 600watts RMS at 2ohms, So why not get a 13W6v2d4? It is rated at 500watts RMS, but by their chart will handle 600watts.

I can order it for you, or you can put it in Lay-A-Way, won't cost you extra.

Let me know, I've never had to order a 13W6 yet.

And about your buddy with a XXX, where did he get it mic'd? Not at our store, and I thought we were the only ones around with a mic.

BTW, how is your 0guage amp kit? Installed yet?
