i was trying to find a good cheap CD head unit with a front AUX jack for my mp3 player. just befor x-mas i saw a perfect one from Aiwa...cheap. i was x-mas shopping so i decided to wait till after the holidays to go back and buy it. the store no longer sells aiwa. after much searching and googling it seems aiwa has been wiped off the map. i found the aiwa official website but...nobody anywhere sells aiwa.

i presonally never owned aiwa stuff but the cheap price interested me. now i'm just curious to what happened to them? why are they suddenly sold nowhere? did i miss something? anybody know?

They are/were owned by Sony I believe. Sony might have just phased them out so they could just use the Sony name for everything instead. I don't know this for a fact, I'm just taking a guess. I know circuit city phased them out maybe a year or so ago, but I have no idea about other places.
