Ok so this summer hopefully with all the money ill get from graduation im planning on putting a system in that will... well be really loud.
So far what im planning on is:
2 MTX 9500 12 subs which i found for 750 in the box from mtx
MTX 81001 amp for the subs which i found for 500
MTX 7804 4 channel amp for 300
Pioneer 8600 mp headunit 330
Pioneer 12 disc cd changer 125
Pioneer 5 way 6x9s (for all 4 not just one pair)
2 Pioneer 6.5's in doors and rear seat panels 160
and this is all prices for brand new stuff
i was jw if this seems like it would be a good system, yea i know this is all going to cost alot of money (mainly the subs and amps) but i want bass that will make other peoples cars shake.
thanks
i dont like the way the mtx box sounds its tuned to high, how much do yo uwant to spend? i can set you up a system that will sound alot better and louder for less.
why the hell do you want 4 6x9's and mids in the rear seat panels that will not sound that good at all. plus where are you goin to put the 2ed set of 6x9's
It was only one set of 6x9's and what are some better brands for subs and price... ill just say im not looking to compete i just want alot of bass and for people to be able to hear the bass and music outside of my car. i meant to put that on the 6.5's not on the 6x9's
how much do you want to spend? im makin something up right now but don't put any mids in the back it will just hurt the sound.
that comes out to around $1550 but it will be louder with one sub just put the 61/2's in the doors and the 51/4's in the kicks and your be set.
the olny other thing you should get with that set up is a 200 amp alternator and a 2ed battery.
oh yea and you would be able to hear the bass from out side the car and also down the street.
I have a full MTX setup and I couldn't be happier. My amp is pretty tough to tune but once you get it sounding good its very loud, and if you get the remote bass control knob it helps for when you want to tune it farther.
Ive heard really good things about RE but the reason i wanted to go mtx was because i have a friend that can get me MTX, pioneer, kenwood, and sony all at cost plus shipping. thats the main reason i wanted to go with mtx, and pioneer. also ive had a few friends that have had the lower mtx subs (the 4500) and it sounded good in their cars and thats why i was thinking that.
CB: by full mtx setup do you mean you have the highs and mids by mtx components?
also if i get the subs individually-
the 9500 dual 4 ohm i can get for 300 dollars each
8500 dual 4 ohm is 225 each
and the 7500 dual 4 ohm (the lowest i really want to go) is 125 each
But if there are better quality speakers for the same or less money then i cant say no to that.
you can get the re sx's for that price or one of the new xxx 15's for 600-650 the reason i love re so much is no one has them and your shock people what you tell them what type of subs they are.
i have 2 re se 12's right now they are one of the lower line re sub's (around 150 i think) hooked up to a dei 1500D (1000 watts). a guy i know that works at CC said his new "system" is alot louder then mine so i took him to a bass off and was 6 db's louder them him.
he has 2 8500 or 9500 15's in the mtx box with a mtx 8100 amp, i gave him a cd to play latenight tip and it sounded like $hit the box is tuned high and can't play lows. i think it peeked at 56hz's and mine was around 46.
2 re sx 12's and the 2500D in the right box will be VARY loud and sound good doin so. alot better then mtx if you ask me. i have been around car audio since mtx had the black gold sub's about 12 years ago.
Well how much would some re 12's cost me and where is a website that i can look at them?
Don't go with pioneer speakers. Even their kevlar speakers arn't impressive. Plus MTX is really overpriced. But if you can get it for cost, it's not so bad. But if you get TWO DUAL 4 OHM subs, you arn't going to be able to drop them to 1 OHM, which will cut some power from those subs. If they make a dual 2 ohm get those instead.
2 of the RE sx 12's in a ported box with the orion 2500D amp should be plenty of bass right?
And what are some good components that i could get. And why not put 6x9's in the back.
What does that do to the sound quality.
And would tweeters in the a-pillars and the ones where the seat belt goes to make it louder treble wise?
thanks

save your money, and spend it on a paint job that says "I'm a f*cking retard" all over your car. It'll buy you the same quality and quantity of attention. Or better yet just leave the ~$1700 sitting on the dash, make it easier for the theives.
^^^ ok that post was dumb.
yes 2 sx 12's in a ported box and a 2500D will be vary loud, i love bass and i want it so it hurt's. right now i have 2 sx (lower line) and a 1000 watt amp and i can't drive with it up.
with 2 sx 12's and a 2500D every bit of your car will flex, and your have to upgrade your alternator and get a 2ed battery.
if you put speckers in the back you wont be able to hear them over the bass and it's best to have the mids and highs infrount of you for a better sound stage(kinda like a concert).
for best sound your should have your tweeters by the mid's, get a set of Q-Forms and a set of 5 1/4 mids and tweets and put a set of 61/2" in the doors.

for a good set of mids look at cdt audio i love mine and a few people on this site have them they are a highend specker and dont cost much.
for the cdt audio mids look at

Sorry, I just see another reason for stricter noise laws everytime I see a post saying he wants a system that "shakes other cars" or "can be heard outside my car". People with 0 respect for the comfort of others not wanting to listen to their music while inside their own car seems a little crazy to me.
i have the loudest "system" where i live and no one knows about it unless they know me or saw me at a show. just because you have it don't mean its turned up all the time.
Read what he said. He wants people to be able to hear it outside of his car...He wants to shake other cars...anyone with your level of car audio IQ knows as well as I do he sounds like one of those guys who sits at red lights or in parking lots with their systems cranked as loud as possibly trying to impress
yea true but if he gets what i told him to he wont be able to sit there with it up for to long....
i have a wall and no one knows i got a little bump unless i tell em. figure that one out
