I know that this sounds like a lil ricer, but i have a few intirior neon lights(the kind that dance to music and what-not) and I have a few questions about bout wiring them in

I have two ideas on how to do it
1. i wired the in to to cigaret lighters wiring...problem... i like to charge my cell in my car and dont wana mess up my cigarte lighter plug
2. my car does not have cruise controll so i would use the cruise controll fuse(is it powered if my car did not come with cruise)... problem.... where do i run the negative wire to?

I know to some these might sound like stupied questions to some ppl, but im a highschool kid without a clue and would like some friendly help.

PS.
i put a deck in my car a while ago and was wiring up the harness for the deck to a wireing harness for a 2000 trailblazer and there are two orange wires, ones illumination the other is dimmer, and my deck has auto dimmer and only one orange wire.... which one do i hook it up to, the pure orange one or the orange one with a white stripe?!

Thanx to all helpful andvise

Well, the thing about wiring your neons to the factory wiring is that if you eventually put too many lights on that wiring and you will cause a fire from overload! Run an 8 Ga. wire into the car from the battery and be to put a fuse on it at the battery. run it through the grommet in the fire wall, under the dash to the center consul! I have an 03 so it might be a little differant depending on your year. Go to the local auto parts store and get a 4 or 6 fuse distrubution block and section off your car. You then put fuses in this box and turn on all your lights once it is hooked up and test the fuses till you get the smallest one in there before blowing. There is a technical way of figuring out juice consumption but I don't know it. You will blow a few fuses this way but it is easier.

There is a space under the dashboard at the end of your center consul. There are four screws holding on the cover, two on each side of the car and clipped together in the front. Take off this cover and put two sided tape on the bottom of the distribution block and stick it there!!

You will never need power again!! Just change the size of the fuses!!

Um since most neons use less than an amp I think your car would have to be pretty riced out to start melting wires.

I was happy when I heard my car ran 10s. Then I found out that was 0-60.

Ok, I just hooked my interior neons up to a switch the other day, this is how I did it. I have 2 tubes up front that I wanted to turn on with the flick of a switch. So, I bout a little wire, a switch with an LED on it, and went to work.

First I have to install the switch. Take off the dash piece surrounding the HVAC and head unit. I drilled a hole that was slightly smaller than the switch, and forced it in. I think I cracked it a little, but rest assured it's not going anywhere.

Once I got that, I ran a wire to the fuse box on the driver side of the car. I pulled out the hazard's fuze, put the stripped wire into the space where the fuse just was, then pushed the fuse back in. That'll hold it in place and give it power!

Then I ran a wire to a ground spot. This is basically any metal in your car. Once I had my positive and ground wires ran, I just cut and stripped the wires on my neons and hooked them right up. FYI, normally the wire with the white stripe on it is the + wire.

once everything was soldered and ziptied up to make it look nice, I could put the dash pieces on and I was good to go!
