I believe im having an issue with my BCM, ill take a video of my problem in a few days. Car runs fine regardless. I have 3 extra BCM's floating around in storage from 3 part cars. i have a '97, '98, and a 99' BCM from cavy's. but i have a 2000 sunfire. Are any of them compatable?
i can pretty much say no right now. in 2000 didnt it swithc to class 2 wiring?? that woiuld make all the older ones incompatible. best bet is to take one of urs to a junkyard and swap it with a 2k+. this way you technically arent stealign it
Whats goin on that makes you think you have a BCM problem???

Just uploaded a short vid. Sorry i couldnt get it happening from the beginning, the batt in my camera died.
This issue seems to happen randomly, for the last month, and is only happening more and more. Car drives fine, but my gauges go dead, the odometer says error, and a bunch of idiot lights come on and stay on.
I hope you like the music.

Ahh
I'd check and make sure that the plugs of the BCM are clean and that they are completely plugged in. You might also try taping the plugs into the BCM so they don't come loose or anything and seeing if that helps.
When I put in my remote start/security, one time i tried to start the car and it did the same thing.
I found out that I had forgotten to plug the plugs back in.
Plugged um back in, and it works fine.
You might also check the connection to the cluster and see if that might be bad.

well, ill check it tommorow afternoon after work. Kinda odd though, i havent touch the BCM ever, well atleast in this car.
But i guess im right, the BCM does do that sometimes then. at least i know i was looking in the right direction.
Check the ground on the battery tray first. That's a common problem, and that's the common fix.
There was no BCM in pre-2000 cars. So you can't possibly have a 97, 98 or 99 BCM.
huh, well then i dont know what the black boxes i have from those cars.
Oh well.
Its not the battery ground, considering its ground in 4 different places.
And the pcm Connections are fine, im pulling the dash off now and ill check the cluster. Is there an actual ground wire in the cluster that i can trace an upgrade if need be?
